Umbra Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Umbra (“the app”, “we”) is built so your reflections stay yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

What stays on your device

Everything you write in Umbra, your journal entries, your chosen focus areas, your streak and history, and your reminder settings, is stored only on your device. There is no account and no sign in. We do not run a server that receives your writing, and nothing you write is ever uploaded to us or to anyone else. The app works fully offline.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos, or the contents of your journal. We do not use analytics that track how you use the app, and we do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect it.

Subscriptions

If you choose to subscribe, the purchase is handled by Apple and by our subscription provider, RevenueCat. To manage your subscription and unlock the app, RevenueCat receives purchase information, such as the product you bought, transaction identifiers, and subscription status, tied to a random, anonymous identifier. This does not include your journal entries or your name.

Apple processes payment and may handle information under Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. These reminders are created on your device and are not sent through any server.

Children

Umbra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Not medical advice

Umbra is a space for self-reflection. It is not therapy and not a substitute for professional help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
